Our Studio Extraction Workflow
Every magnetic asset received by VMT undergoes a strict three-stage ingestion process starting with mechanical stabilization,which involves physically inspecting the cassette shell and executing a controlled, full-cycle manual wind to release internal tape tension. This followed by precision gain staging to optimize peak volume and digital phase alignment to resolve tracking imbalances or phase shifts. Mechanical Stabilization: We Physically inspect the cassette shell, repair or replace compromised components, and execute a controlled, full-cycle manual wind to safely release years of internal tape tension.
Precision Gain Staging: Utilizing factory calibrated hardware, we optimize the peak signal performance to ectract maximum dynamic range while completely avoiding digital clipping or artificial distortion.
Digital Phase Alignment: We micro adjust the stereo tracking to resolve historical alignment drifts, fixing phase imbalances and restoring a perfectly centered, immersive soundstage.
